Home again …

We landed on Saturday evening at 4:30pm after two rough flights from San Pedro Sula to Houston and then on to Washington Dulles.  We piled into our van, which drove like a Cadillac, and began the trip home.  We made a few stops, including supper in VA, where PD’s brother Motz met us briefly on his way to visit friends and make a business trip to OH.  It was great to see him again.  We also stopped at least once because everybody was fit for only one thing … sleep!  We arrived home at 2:15 am.   Our beds were appreciated more than usual that day!

Thank-you, Lord, for a very good time in Honduras.  It feels right to be back with family in NC, but we sure do miss our family in Erandique.  On the way home, Esther remarked to me, “I’m so sad that we left all our friends in Honduras.  I’m not even happy that we are going home.”  Is that how a 7-yr-old expresses culture shock?

I’ll share some of our pics with you here …

It was nice to see your face again yesterday. Hopefully we can catch up sometime! Glad you had a good trip though!

What prodigal waste it appears to be,
To see scattered on the ground
The bright green leaves and the bare stem
Bleeding in a hundred places from the sharp steel…

But in the hand of the tried and trusted Husbandman,
There’s not a random stroke in it all.
Nothing cut away that would not have been
Loss to keep and gain to loose.

Can’t wait to talk with you again. I miss you like crazy.
